Madre Laura Latorre Mendoza  (1877 - 1969) Madre Laura Mendoza collaborated with the Servant of God Alfredo Verzosa and the Venerable Alfredo Maria Obviar in the work of catechesis in the old Diocese of Lipa where she helped supervise and form catechists to the barrios as president of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine during the first half of the twentieth century. It could be said that they form the "triumvirate" of catechesis in the Diocese of Lipa. She co-founded with Bishop Alfredo Verzosa what is now known as the Missionary Catechists of the Sacred Heart, the first Filipino religious congregation in the Philippines to be founded by a bishop. Ang Simbahan ng Sta. Ursula sa Binangonan, Rizal Brief History of Sta. Ursula Parish Church The parish of Sta. Ursula was established when the town of Binangonan was separated from Pueblo de Morong , the center of the province which is now Rizal, in the year 1621, when Christianity had already taken root in the town through the mission of the Franciscans who were the first group of missionaries to evangelize this part of Luzon in 1578.  The virgin and martyr Sta. Ursula was chosen to be the titular patroness of the newly established town and parish. After establishing a mission in Morong, the Franciscans Fray Juan de Plasencia and Fray Diego de Oropesa began to spread Christianity among the settlers around Laguna de Bay, and established  visitas in places where they gathered people to teach them catechism. Ang ika-17 siglong imahen ng Mahal na Birhen ng Santo Rosario ng Manaoag na mas kilala bilang Nuestra Senora de Manaoag na gawa sa garing (ivory) at pilak ay isang representasyon ng Mahal na Birhen kasama ang Nino Hesus. Ang imahen na tinatawag ding “Apo Baket” ng mga taga-Pangasinan, ay nakadambana sa basilikang itinalaga sa kanyang karangalan sa Manaoag, Pangasinan. Ayon sa tradisyon, ang pangalan ng bayan ng Manaoag ay nanggaling sa salitang Pangasinense na “mantaoag” na ang ibig sabihin ay “tawagin” , mula sa salitang ugat na “taoag” (tagalog: tawag).  Dinala ang imahen sa Pilipinas buhat sa Espanya sa pamamagitan ng kalakalang Galyon na tumatahak sa rutang Maynila – Acapulco, Mexico noong unang bahagi ng ika-17 siglo ng Dominikong si Padre Juan de San Jacinto.  Ayon sa tradisyon at sa mga dokumento na nasulat mula pa noong 1610, ang Mahal na Birhen ay nagpakita sa isang magsasakang nasa katanghaliang-gulang. Ang Mahal na Birhen ng Caysasay (Spanish: Nuestra Senora de Caysasay, English: Our Lady of Caysasay) ay isang imahen ng Mahal na Birheng Maria na pinararangalan sa Pang-arkidyosesis na Dambana ng Mahal na Birhen ng Caysasay sa Taal, lalawigan ng Batangas, Pilipinas. Ang imahen na isang representasyon ng Immaculada Concepcion, na nalambat ng isang mangingisda sa ilog ng Pansipit noong taong 1603, ay pinaniniwalaang isa sa pinaka-matandang imahen ng Mahal na Birhen sa bansa. Ang mga sumunod na aparisyon ng Mahal na Birhen na naitala ng mga lider eklesiastiko ng panahong iyon ay masasabing pinakauna sa bansa. Sa kasalukuyan, patuloy na pinupuntahan ng mga deboto ang dambana ng Caysasay dahil sa mga himala na ipinatutungkol sa Mahal na Birhen.  Ang imahen ng Caysasay ay pinagkalooban ng koronasyong kanonikal noong 1954 at binigyan ng titulo na Reyna ng Arkidyosesis ng Lipa .
